Clinical Services

The Dyscovery Centre has an interdisciplinary team of health and educational professionals who provide assessments tailored to the needs of the individual. Every individual is different – we don’t have a 'one size fits all’ approach. Instead, we listen to the individual and take a holistic approach towards their needs at school, home, college and the workplace.

The Centre team provides assessments and guidance for:

  • Children
  • Adolescents
  • Adults in college, university, at the workplace and at home
  • Parents / Carers

This may take place at the Centre or in the most appropriate settings. Intervention may be through individual sessions based at the Centre.

Referrals are received from parents and individuals directly and from a range of statutory and voluntary services including: Local Health Boards, Primary Care Trusts, Local Education Authorities and Social Services, as well as from schools, Paediatricians, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and GPs, and from colleges and universities. Adult referrals often come from individuals, colleges, universities, employers and Jobcentre Plus. The Dyscovery Centre accepts referrals from across the UK and internationally.

If you have private healthcare insurance, you may be able to claim for an assessment. You will need to contact the company directly or check the terms and conditions of your policy to see if you are covered.

The team is also able to undertake specific interventions for authorities within the locality.
