Launching "Recruitment Questions"

November 28, 2016

Learning and developmental difficulties can affect your working life – but they don’t need to stop you from doing and achieving what you want! Our ongoing series of articles, Recruitment Questions, answers some of the questions you might have about working and employment with a learning difficulty.

Employers often ask applicants to declare any disabilities or other difficulties that may affect their work. That may feel daunting for some people who would rather hide their dyslexia, ADHD, dyspraxia or any other developmental difficulty. But researchers and clinicians, and increasingly employers, know that learning difficulties can be a huge asset!

Keep a look out for our news article series Recruitment Questions which will tackle the difficulties that a developmental disorder can cause in the workplace, how to find out what can help, and which techniques to use to show off your abilities anyway. We will be looking at working conditions, different jobs, interviews and applications, and will hopefully be able to help you see how to use your learning difficulty to your advantage.
